This study booklet is tailored for CHM135H: Chemistry: Physical Principles which is offered every semester at the University of Toronto. The booklet is filled with illustrations, detailed explanations, practice questions, and structured summaries that help reinforce learning. Whether you are preparing for exams or reviewing lecture material, this study guide will keep you organized and focused throughout the CHM135H course. How contents in this study booklet organized?
The notes are organized based on materials taught in class every week, from Week 1 to Week 12. At the beginning of each week, there is a table of content section which enlists the main concepts discussed in that week. Even though some concepts may be covered differently from semester to semester, you can easily find them in this set of this study booklet. Please note that some contents may or may not be covered by the lecture. At the end, there will be some practice questions, and those questions are from past term tests or exams (I may release handwritten step-by-step solution later).
How to use the notes effectively?
You may colour print the notes, and use them to help the organization and understanding of the lecture materials.
For students who are using iPad or other digital tools to study, you may upload these notes to your choice of note-taking app such as Notability or Goodnotes, and annotate according to your class schedule. This will also make the search of specific topic easier.
Will these notes replace slides or course materials provided by professor?
The short answer is NO. While this study booklet is a valuable resource for reinforcing key concepts in CHM135H, it is not intended to replace the lecture slides or other course materials provided by your professor. Instead, it should be used as a supplementary tool to enhance your understanding of the material covered in lectures and readings. The booklet offers concise summaries and diagrams that can aid in reviewing and preparing for exams, but it may not cover every detail or nuance discussed in class. For the best learning outcome, use this booklet in conjunction with your slides and any assigned course materials to ensure you have a comprehensive grasp of the course content.
